This constructional, yet organic based design was made with strict limitations. In order of local municipality of Kerkrade, the Netherlands the design had to be based on the recycling of materials. It had to be expanded or dismantled when possible. The majority of the materials used originated in the two nearby about to be demolished flats.
In this case study the window frames make up the size of that wall. Sometimes they had to be rotated or combined to meet modern thermal standards. The quality of materials used seem to cause safety hazards, therefore a completely new wooden structural grid is created.
