This constructional, yet organic based design was made with strict limitations. In order of local municipality of Kerkrade, the Netherlands the design had to be based on the recycling of materials. It had to be expanded or dismantled when possible. The majority of the materials used originated in the two nearby about to be demolished flats.

In this case study the window frames make up the size of that wall. Sometimes they had to be rotated or combined to meet modern thermal standards. The quality of materials used seem to cause safety hazards, therefore a completely new wooden structural grid is created.

This Estimating tool was used as export function for the window estimating program Logikal.

Not all the aspects were used here. Logikal standard software was limited in the way of cost management. I have created an export file with raw data with background price management. This way for every article from an existing database a certain price or pricing group could be changed for every project.

This Estimation tool also had built in cost split. It was possible to re-arrange items, or discount groups based on given taglines / export codes. This way numbers and modules would highlight in case a price was wrong, too high or forgotten.

To keep a little track of finances, whether it’s project based or personally. This example I made a file to keep an eye on finances. Nowadays it is often unclear how much money is coming in, and how much is going out.

This example can easily be upscaled to larger projects

These images show a simple form of project planning for smaller companies. This can simply be an overview chart so see the current status. On addition to this production or hour registration can be added. This additional data can feed the current project sheet.

The current visible project sheet can again feed an overview with production or working capacity. For larger and more difficult projects official software is probably needed
